Evernote and Google Drive: An Overview
Evernote announced Google Drive integration a few months ago. This is a welcome update for users who rely on both Evernote as well as Google Drive to manage personal and professional content.
All platforms (at the time of this article’s publishing) are supported with the exception of the Windows client and the Internet Explorer and Firefox web clients.
Update: As of mid-2017 Windows client is supported. Internet Explorer and Firefox web still not supported.
How It Works
If you’re on the Mac, make sure you’ve updated your Evernote for Mac client to Version 6.8 or later.
There are three simple ways to bring Google Drive content into Evernote.
1. You can access Google Drive documents using the Google Drive toolbar icon.
Note: If you’re using the Google Drive feature for the first time, Evernote will prompt you to allow access to Google Drive.
2. You can access the Insert from Google Drive (Evernote for Mac) file menu option.
3. Yet another way to add content from Google Drive is to copy and paste the link from the file within Google Drive directly into Evernote.
Attached Google Drive files are displayed in Evernote as easily identifiable, clickable objects.
